Welcome to the Conservatory of Music at Taylor - Online

Leslie_MahrLeslie Mahr
Conservatory Director

Over the past 3 years of my tenure as Director, I've witnessed an amazing standard of young musicians coming out of the Conservatory of Music at Taylor. Our students excel in music festivals and Royal Conservatory examininations year after year! We have several students in the Edmonton Youth Orchestra and in Bachelor of Music performance programs at major universities.

I believe that our commitment to hiring teachers with a university education as well as teaching experience, is the reason for our success. Currently we have two instructors with doctorate degrees, in addition to several with Master of Music degrees. Your child will get the best musical education here. We believe in setting the standard high. Our students get at least 2 performance opportunities a year at recitals held in December and June. Exceptional students are showcased at our Student Scholarship Concert each June.

Here at the Conservatory of Music at Taylor we believe in nurturing our students while teaching them the important discipline of daily practice. We want our parents to be onboard and to take an active role in making that practice schedule an important part of each day. You've all heard that joke "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice".
